Biography
Mr Santdeep Paun is a Consultant Nasal and Facial Plastic Surgeon and former Head of Department at St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Hospitals. He is an honorary Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary’s University London. He is also the Medical Director of Symmetry Clinic, a private practice in London’s well known Harley Street.
Mr Paun trained in London and was awarded the highly prestigious Fellowship of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (EAFPS) in 2001 and spent time in Amsterdam, Toronto and Boston working with three leading international surgeons learning various aspects of reconstructive and aesthetic facial plastic procedures. He was the Inaugural President of the European Board for Certification in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (EBCFPRS). He was one of the first Board certified surgeons of the International Board for Certification in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (IBCFPRS) and currently serves as its Vice President.
Mr Paun has also served on various senior executive positions within the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery and the International Federation of Facial Plastic Surgical Societies.
Spending much of his time performing rhinoplasty and aesthetic aspects of facial plastic surgery, Mr Paun is also part of the Royal London craniofacial trauma team, a unique multidisciplinary service dedicated to aesthetic reconstruction following severe facial trauma.
He has a national and international reputation in complex rhinoplasty surgery and is regularly invited worldwide to lecture on all aspects of his work. He has written 15 book chapters and a multitude of peer-reviewed papers on his various clinical interests. He co-runs courses in Rhinoplasty and Facial Plastic Surgery and runs a highly popular Fellowship programme teaching junior surgeons.
Mr Paun has been invited to work on documentaries for the BBC, is a well recognised opinion on nasal surgery for a variety of media outlets and has been quoted in written articles for major newspapers including the Sunday Times. He has featured regularly in Tatler Magazine’s cosmetic guide and The Times medical supplements where he has been recommended as one of the best nose and facial plastic surgeons in the UK.
