Garyfalia Lekakis MD PhD FRCS(ORL-HNS) EBFPRS IBFPRS

Born in Melbourne Australia, graduated from University of Patras Medical School in Greece, Dr Lekakis completed her basic surgical training in London UK. Her higher surgical training in Otorhinolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery was completed in the South East Thames rotation. Subsequently she was awarded with a 1 year hands on funded fellowship program from the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery and trained in Centers of excellence between Sacramento California, Amsterdam in the Netherlands and London UK. During the same period she obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Aesthetic Surgery with distinction from Queen Mary University of London. Her Board Certification in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery was completed after her succeeding at the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Examination in Washington DC. Dr Lekakis moved to Belgium and while practicing in Brussels as one of a few Board certified facial plastic surgeons completed her PhD thesis on the role of 3d technology in rhinoplasty settings at the University of Leuven. She contributes to the board of reviewers for Facial Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Medicine Journal, Aesthetic Surgery Journal, Facial Plastic Surgery, Rhinology and B-ENT. She has been serving as the Director of the Fellowship for 3 year and as a member of the EB at EAFPS for the last year. She remains a Board member of the Evidence Based Rhinoplasty and Research Group EBRRG.
