Expertise

After completing his studies of Medicine at the University of Graz Hermann Raunig went
on to obtain a degree in otolaryngology in Leoben. He is a member of the European
Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery and the Austrian Academy of Cosmetic Surgery &
Aestetic Medicine. Furthermore, Dr. Raunig undertook advanced specialist training as a
clinical fellow in Facial Plastic and Cosmetic surgery from renowned centers in
Switzerland, Germany, USA and South Africa. Additionally, he has published a soft
technique for otoplasty and has written several chapters in a textbook about otoplasty. Dr.
Raunig works at his private practice as well as an ENT consultant at the hospital Spittal an
der Drau. His main focus and surgical specialities as an ENT include: Otoplasty,
Rhinoplasty and Blepharoplasty.

Further developed and perfected the pre-existing standard surgical techniques for
Otoplasty had been further developed. This unique method differs from standard
techniques in four points.

  1. Supposition for this technique was the development of a special medical instrument
    (Diamond Coated File).
  2. Minimal invasive approach allows for more efficient healing.
  3. The use of absorbable sutures avoids potential complications related to permanent
    sutures.
  4. Another benefit of this technique are hardly visible scars.

Project Proposal

Lectures have been presented in Europe, South Africa, USA and India, China.
Surgical demonstrations were performed in Austria, Germany, Norway and South Africa,
China, India
The proposal´s goal is to exchange experience, give lectures and demonstrations.
