Rui Xavier MD PhD Porto Portugal

Prof. Dr. Rui Xavier graduated in Medicine from University of Porto in 1989. He concluded his training in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery and became Specialist in 1997. He has a PhD degree in Medical Sciences with a thesis addressing rhinoplasty outcomes.

Prof. Dr. Rui Xavier has a special interest in Facial Plastic Surgery and, particularly, in functional and aesthetic rhinoplasty. Currently he has a busy practice in Porto as well as in Lisbon, mainly focused in aesthetic as well as functional rhinoplasty.

Prof. Dr. Rui Xavier is frequently invited to lecture in Congresses in Europe, America and Asia. He is author of several scientific papers published in medical journals and of several book chapters about rhinoplasty published in Europe and USA. He is also a reviewer for the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Journal, for the Facial Plastic Surgery Journal and for the Laryngoscope Journal.

Prof. Dr. Rui Xavier is member of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery and of the Asian Facial Plastic Surgery Society. He is President of the Facial Plastic Committee of the Portuguese Otolaryngology Society and National Delegate for Portugal of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery.
